Like Water

Like Water explores the multifaceted nature of femme sexuality, the empowerment which comes from reclaiming one’s sexuality, and the depth of healing I’ve experienced during my journey so far. Paying homage to the respective characteristics and representations of different African water goddesses, I gathered a series of Youtube Videos and Gifs I found online to show how my sexual nature is just as natural as joy, pain, anger, love, happiness, fear, and life, itself.

Nigeria In 4 Minutes

My most recent trip back Home to Nigeria was everything I wanted it to be. I so desperately needed a break from the states to be surrounded by the love of my family and get away from the grind for a bit.

As always, I want to connect my viewers with parts of the world they've never experienced, and I especially aim to tackle the misconceptions about life in African countries. Yes, there are some people who live in traditional houses or "huts." At the same time, there are also many Nigerians who live much better than many of us in the states, dwelling in solid, two-to-three story houses with one or two house helpers. Yes, it is extremely hot depending on where you are, but believe it or not, it also gets cold in certain parts of the country. Just like most countries, Nigeria encompasses both sides of any spectrum you can think of, and that's exactly what I wanted to capture with this short film.

The Prodigy Vanguard Kingston, Jamaica pt.1

Every Tuesday and Thursday in Kingston, Jamaica this past July, I hopped on the 97 bus from Bull Bay to Downtown. It dropped me off at the intersection of Queen Street and Gold Street where I grabbed some plantain chips and water at a local store, and then walked myself down to Fleet Street. Here is the Part One of the recap of the first international leg of my art mental health program, Prodigy Vanguard Program.
